4/15/23 Upcoming Campaign: “Pikatto PikaPika Pikachu!”

Hey, PokéFam! A new Pokémon Center campaign in Japan is releasing on Saturday, April 15th, 2023. It features items that celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Pokémon Center stores. You may notice that this specific Pikachu seems a bit familiar… Well, that’s because it’s actually based on the original Pokémon Center Pikachu art used from 1998 – 2003! The Japanese Pokémon Centers will be selling items with this nostalgic-style Pikachu artwork as part of a Japan-exclusive commemorative celebration, called the “Pikatto PikaPika Pikachu Campaign,” which is happening from April 22nd – July 30th, 2023. This line of merchandise includes a LED Lamp, a pencil case, a multi pouch, a key ring, a mug, cutlery, chopsticks, two T-Shirt designs (one for children and one for adults), a hand towel, and a B6 horizontal notebook. Not to worry, plush collectors— the “My PIKACHU!” campaign features a wide variety of expressive Pikachu plushies that will be sold, in-person, at Japanese Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores. In fact, customers who purchase a “My PIKACHU!” plush from a Japanese Pokémon Center location, can be part of a special service where they create an individualized tag for their plush Pikachu friend with a store staff member. Super cute! Not only that, but at the Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo and Osaka stores, you can pay 1,650 yen to walk through an interactive “Pika Pika Forest” (Tokyo) or “Pika Pika Tree” (Osaka) to “meet” one of these special Pikachu plushies, at random! They come in a wide variety too— from different ears, tails, expressions, and even body types, each plush is said to be unique in its own way.

Preorders for all Pokémon Center 25th Anniversary merchandise start at 10:00 am JST on April 13th, 2023 on the Japanese Pokémon Center Online store.
